Matthews 7:7-8

I have always been fascinated with prayer, but my fascination has skyrocketed in the past few months. I am currently obsessed with Matthews 7:7-8.

I would like to emphasize on the word ask, which is defined on the Merriam Webster dictionary as “to tell someone in the form of a question that you want to be given something or that you want something to happen: to request something.”

I am a big believer that God will grant all of our wishes, needs, and desires as long as they are part of the plan He has for our lives. With that being said, we have to pray in the Spirit and ask God to lead us in the right direction and to reveal his plan for our lives.

Prayer helps us to understand God’s will, and teaches us to be patient as we submit to His timing. Daniel chapter 10 is a great example of the three P's (prayer, perseverance, and patience). I encourage you to read it. Daniel fasted for 21 days, and even though verse 12 says that God heard him on the first day he humbled himself, Daniel did not receive his blessing until the twenty fourth day because the king of the Persian kingdom resisted the Angel God had sent for twenty one days.

One thing I love about Daniel is that he persisted, and continued to fast, and to seek God –even though he did not receive his answer on day one. My goal this week is to be a little bit more like Daniel, to pray more, to seek more, to knock more.

  1. Pray more, seek more, knock more...I stand behind that.

I love hearing from you :)
